Turkey Time Take Two!

More fun Ahead!

We started out our second day in Turkey with a bus ride. For lunch, we stopped at this restaurant on the Dardanelles. 

Mikkel finally shaved his mustache!!! I think I posted a picture of him earlier with his nasty mustache... I can't remember... but anyway, he grew a mustache, then died it black... and now it is GONE! so I am celebrating :-)

We went to the ANZAC beach in Gallipoli which commemorates Australian and New Zealand troops that died during World War 1

We had a nice devotional there and talked about the historical events of World War 1 that occurred on that spot.

Next, we took a ferry ride across the Dardanelles to get to Troy. This is Kara and myself enjoying the sunshine :-)

So we got to Troy and it turns out that they are doing some reconstruction on the Trojan Horse that we expected to see there. So there was this giant black tarp covering the horse (which is a model of what the actual Trojan Horse would have looked like anyway) so that was a bit of a bummer... but we still enjoyed Troy...

Lindsay was pretty bummed, she wore her Horse shirt in honor of the occasion and felt like it was an effort wasted...

actually they are screen shots from a video she took of me dancing around in Troy, but we will keep the raw footage of that under wraps for now... and actually forever... ;-)

So we got to our hotel that night and it was right on the Dardanelles. It was great!!! This photo was taken from the balcony of my room--how unreal is that?!

Nikki and Katie somehow dropped their room key in the water and Nikki jumped in to get it (we weren't supposed to swim because there was no lifeguard there and if something were to happen, our insurance only covers us if we have a lifeguard present.)
