Behind the Scenes: Under the JC

Whattup!!!

So a few days ago, we were taken on a tour of the technical space underneath the Jerusalem Center... I am just remembering that I never posted pictures of the JC itself, and am making a mental note to do that... Anyway--the JC sits on several large pillars and is lifted above the ground so that underneath every floor (except for the first floor) there is a large area for technical space. (maybe this doesn't make sense unless you see the building, but the building is kinda cut into the hill [the Mount of Olives] and each floor is kinda like steps down, so that the floors are not exactly on top of each other but rather jut out a little further with each floor down)

Eran Hayet is the head guy at the JC, he is an Israeli and gave us our tour of the technical space. Behind him is the water tank just beneath the fountain on the sixth floor (I'll post a picture of that later)

Kiristin is rad.

Behind this wall is the Stratford's apartment on the fifth floor...

In one area, there are tons of names written on the walls from students who came before. We added our names. It was funny--we asked if we could add our names to the walls and Mr. Hayet said that he knows that Mormons are the best because they come down to see the wall filled with other people's names and they still ask before they write on the wall ;-)

I wrote my name on this pipe :-) I didn't know where my brother's name was, and there are so many names there that I just wrote mine in a random spot...

There I am!

Hannah adding her name :-)

It was rad to see how everything works!!!
